Paradigm Alliance’s H.E.A.T. Programmes provide newcomers to a new potentially hostile environment with invaluable orientation to that particular environment enabling recipients to the training to operate effectively and efficiently more quickly in new circumstances.

Paradigm Alliance offers courses that are specifically structured to your own unique set of requirements.

Our courses are designed to give recipients the opportunity to experience realist situations in order to acquire the necessary skills and confidence to address real-life situations effectively.

It is critical especially for newly deployed personnel deployed to a ‘new’ area to have acquired the savvy to deal with new situations on the ground as effectively as possible, while carrying out important tasks under stressful circumstances.

It is preferred if participants are confident in speaking and reading English, but many other alternative languages for communication may be considered.

In general, courses cover the following basic topics and provide the skills necessary for the individual to manage his new environment: 

Building of situational awareness in high-risk environments

Personal safety and security, including while traveling.

Threats in the field.

Reaction to potentially hostile fire (small arms and ‘indirect’) – ‘behaviour under fire’.

‘Unexploded Ordinance’ (UXO) and Improvised Explosive Device (IED) encounters.

Fire Safety.

Action at illegal check points

Basic First Aid and ‘Psychological’ First Aid and physical adjustment to new climatic and geographical conditions including dealing with inherent sickness such as malaria.

Communications equipment and how to employ it effectively. This may include various kinds of radio equipment as well as computerised and office equipment. 

In-house developed courses on specified appropriate topics as required.

Basic but suitable negotiations skills

Capture and captivity including kidnap and ransom.
